Through the effective utilization of human resources and associated equipment, the Operations Supervisor works in conjunction with the Management team to oversee the processing and completion of daily operational and/or technical tasks for the Lockbox Department. Under management oversight, this role performs supervisory tasks including, but not limited to: applicant interviews; training and development activities; performance evaluations; corrective action; employee relations; and fostering employee engagement.
Supervise the daily operation of multiple processing functions within the Lockbox Department in accordance with customer specifications, critical processing deadlines and the policies, procedures, quality standards and productivity measures of the department and the Bank.
Identify potential or actual workflow, system, process, personnel and procedural issues to management with recommendations for improvement. Implement immediate problem resolution in coordination of management as needed.
Maintain procedural documentation pertinent to the tasks within area of responsibility. Respond to work related questions to ensure proper application of procedures.
Develop a solid team environment by: creating a supportive, inclusive culture, promoting teamwork; establishing training/cross-training activities; generating accuracy and productivity improvement initiatives.
Work the necessary schedule or additional hours as needed to meet the daily processing requirements.
Perform and/or assist with other duties and projects as assigned.
A supervisory background that portrays effective communication and leadership capabilities, team building and motivational practices, scheduling experience and the ability to evaluate and monitor workflow and troubleshoot unforeseen production issues/problems/trends. Training capability, problem solving ability, flexibility, and strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are necessary to effectively oversee a staff numbering up to 30+ associates.
Possesses 2-3 years’ of supervisory experience and a working knowledge of bank backroom operations. Exposure to the operation and administration of transaction processing systems is preferable. Ability to build relationships and alliances across departments and external contacts (i.e., vendors). Demonstrates an aptitude for operational and technological efficiencies as well as literacy and proficiency with PCs and their applications.
